Report to Country Manager.
Responsibility for preparing, achieving and maximising sales and profit budgets for all retail distribution channels (Full Price 5stores, and Outlet 23 stores ) throughout Japan.
Main responsibilities
•Pertaining to Sales and Profit
Prepare and present to Management annual sales and expenses budget.
Once budget is agreed, preparing a monthly re-forecast to management, as well as continuous management thereof, to achieve budgeted sales, expenses and profit.
Translation of the budget into a comprehensive plan, taking into account product assortment balances, promotional activity, and retail distribution channel requirements
•Pertaining to inventory and product assortment management
Initiate and manage optimum product assortment and inventory levels to achieve budgeted stock turns, profit and sales requirements.
Manage activities relating to allocation, planning and promotion of inventory to achieve the most efficient balance of product mix to achieve targets.
Manage activities to ensure promotional events are efficiently executed to achieve profit margin.
Manage activities to analyze and interpret market trends pertaining to product as regards competitive activity, and own product trends. Initiate strategic responses to these trends.
•Pertaining to Staffing
Responsibility for directing and managing activities surrounding building a strong team:
Documentation, implementation and management of recruitment and selection policy
Documentation, implementation, and management of retention policy
Documentation, implementation, and management of training policy
This should include product knowledge, sales skills, and management training.
Documentation, implementation and management of incentive policy
•Pertaining to marketing activity
Implementation and management of activities surrounding the planning of an annual promotional calendar for all distribution channels
Communication with marketing and product management in regard to product requirements, and excellence of execution in retail channels of product launches and updates
Managing activities surrounding the initiation and excellent execution of visual merchandising activities in all retail distribution channels
Managing the activities surrounding the budgeting for visual merchandising requirements and the return on investment thereof
Managing activities surrounding the measurement of promotional activities and the interpretation thereof for use in future planning and to assess trends
•Pertaining to store layout and design
Ongoing analysis, interpretation and reaction to profitable return on space and best shopping locations to maximize performance
Ongoing assessment of existing fixtures and improvements which may be required
Brand guardianship to ensure stores and staff represent their core brand values and excellence.
