Position Snapshot
The Risk Officer role is based in Tokyo, Japan, and sits within the Risk Management department of Compagnie Française d’Assurance pour le Commerce Extérieur, Branch in Japan. This role reports directly to the Head of Risk Management, Asia Pacific Region, with a dotted line to the Country General Manager.
This role primarily oversees Risk Management for Japan, with additional responsibilities across the APR as assigned. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports, but it requires strong collaboration across functions and entities to drive risk initiatives and uphold governance standards.
Key Responsiblities
The Risk Officer will play a key role in the second line of defense, helping to shape and strengthen Coface’s ERM framework across Japan and the broader APR.
- Making sure our ERM framework runs smoothly and stays aligned with both regulatory expectations and internal standards.
- Keeping local risk policies and standards fresh—updating and sharing them when needed.
- Reviewing RCSA programs, mapping risks, and tracking action plans to improve controls.
- Overseeing operational incidents to ensure they’re escalated and addressed properly.
- Checking in on the effectiveness of our Business Continuity Plan (BCP).
- Leading the ORSA process—from solvency assessments and stress testing to coordinating regulatory submissions.
- Ensuring risk reports and risk regulatory submissions are accurate, timely, and independent.
- Organizing and leading the Local Risk Committee, including preparing materials, facilitating discussions, and ensuring follow-up on key decisions.
- Supporting other risk-related initiatives and projects as required.
