Business Development Manager – Data Center Cooling (Japan)
Role Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving long-term demand generation and strategic sales growth for high-density cooling and power solutions across Japan and Korea. This role focuses on identifying and developing opportunities with hyperscale cloud providers, global multi-tenant data center (MTDC) operators, and large enterprises.
The position operates at a strategic level, building executive relationships, influencing technical specifications, and promoting the adoption of advanced secondary-loop cooling architectures and integrated data center infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Segment Focus
•Develop and execute a business development strategy targeting cloud hyperscalers, colocation providers, and selected enterprise verticals.
•Identify and prioritize accounts experiencing rapid compute density growth or pursuing strong sustainability initiatives.
•Articulate a clear value proposition demonstrating how advanced coolant distribution units (CDUs), in-rack cooling technologies, and intelligent power distribution solutions enable reliable high-density computing while improving energy efficiency.
Pipeline Generation & Opportunity Development
•Manage early-stage sales activities for long-cycle infrastructure projects.
•Identify new opportunities through industry networking, conferences, and direct engagement with potential customers.
•Introduce advanced cooling and power solutions to prospective clients and guide them through proof-of-concept evaluations and budgeting processes.
•Maintain a multi-year pipeline of strategic projects, regularly updating forecasts and ensuring consistent progress through each stage of the sales cycle.
Executive & Stakeholder Engagement
•Build trusted relationships across multiple levels within target organizations.
•Engage C-suite executives regarding strategic priorities such as cost optimization and carbon reduction.
•Collaborate with data center operations leaders on operational needs and with design engineers on technical specifications.
•Position the company as a preferred partner for next-generation data center cooling initiatives.
•Develop relationships with industry influencers such as consulting engineering firms, design consultants, and regional system integrators to support specification and adoption of high-density liquid cooling solutions.
Solution Development & Cross-Functional Coordination
•Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored solutions for large and complex opportunities.
•Coordinate with product management and application engineering to incorporate customized technical requirements, including specialized heat-exchange configurations or monitoring capabilities.
•Lead internal planning sessions for major RFPs, aligning sales, engineering, and service teams on strategy, solution architecture, and pricing.
•Ensure that the full portfolio of data center infrastructure solutions—including racks, liquid cooling systems, power distribution, and monitoring software—is effectively integrated to deliver a differentiated, end-to-end offering.
Marketing & Industry Engagement
•Represent the organization at data center industry events, forums, and working groups focused on cooling innovation and infrastructure efficiency.
•Contribute to thought leadership initiatives such as white papers, presentations, and webinars addressing emerging topics including AI-driven workloads and next-generation cooling technologies.
•Identify strategic partnerships with technology providers, cooling infrastructure firms, and related ecosystem partners to strengthen solution capabilities.
•Stay informed about global regulatory and sustainability initiatives and incorporate these trends into market positioning and business development strategies.
Market Intelligence & Industry Engagement
•Monitor global and regional data center trends (e.g., AI workload growth, sustainability regulations, energy efficiency initiatives) and competitor offerings to identify emerging opportunities in advanced cooling technologies.
•Collaborate with industry alliances and organizations (such as open compute and sustainability initiatives) to strengthen market awareness and ecosystem partnerships.
•Provide market insights and customer feedback to internal product teams to support future product development and strategic planning.
Lead business development for next-generation data center cooling solutions across Japan and Korea. As AI and high-density computing expand, this role works with hyperscalers and major operators to drive adoption of advanced, energy-efficient infrastructure technologies.
